Our History

On October 14th, 1924, the Corddry Company warehouse, on the banks of the Pocomoke River, accompanied  with many Corddry Company buildings that lined both sides of the Pocomoke River, was constructed.  The weatherboard framed structure is covered by a low pitched hip roof that rises to a monitor glazed by six- and eight-pane windows. It has a platform elevator, just above where the big map is hung today. In 1982, Barry Laws acquired the last remaining building of the Corddry Company, did major overhauls to the aging structure, and refurbished it into Pocomoke River Canoe Company.

Today, this beautiful old structure is a “warehouse” for new, used, and restored canoes, kayaks and paddle boards.  On the second floor, the Corddry Company Crossing Model Railroad Club (snowhillmodeltrains.com) has its permanent display, showing a scale model of the surrounding area, along with many unique ideas in the model railroad community.  Not only will you enjoy a scenic view on the Pocomoke River, but also the architecture of our building, as well as with our town, Snow Hill, Maryland.
